Why Do We Keep The Sabbath Day?

In the heavens and on the earth there is no other day that was given to mankind by which we could identify the Creator of the universe, but the seventh day of the week (Saturday in our calendar). Sunday is the first day of the week, the day of Yahshua’s resurrection. The Shabbat (seventh day) is a memorial of creation (Ge.2:1-3). "Yahweh blessed the seventh day and sanctified it" (Ge.2:3; Exod. 20:11). He did not bless Sunday (the first day). The Bible says to set apart the seventh day (Exod.20:8-11). It will be celebrated even during the millennium (Is.66:22-3) by those who are obedient to Yahweh. The sons of disobedience will suffer Yahweh’s wrath (Is. 66:24; Mat. 5:19). Yahshua gave us an example to follow (Luke 4:16). The early disciples walked in His foot-steps by keeping the Sabbath day (Acts 13:14, 42-44; 16:13; 18:4-11; Heb.4:4-10). It is a sign between Yahweh and His true people (Ex.31:17). There is an everlasting reward for those whose hearts choose to obey the Scripture instead of following the roman tradition. "I will give an everlasting name to everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath Day (Is. 56), their prayers will be accepted on My altar (v.7)". The opposite is true for those who disobey. Those who teach otherwise are called "greedy dogs", "ignorant dumb dogs", who "cannot bark", and "cannot understand"; even their prayer is an abomination (Prov. 15:8). Their corpses will be displayed as a warning (Is.66:24). The liars say Yahshua "does not keep the Sabbath Day", in their translations. They deceive you by putting in their own words, knowing you don’t speak Greek and that you won’t take the time to check things out. They owe you an apology for causing confusion in your mind. The Bible clearly says that Yahshua LUO (Greek for loosen) the Sabbath Day. He removed and he did not care about all the "do's and don't do's" added to the law by the religious sects. Those who keep Sunday simply continue to pay homage to emperor Constantine who instituted Sunday by imperial edict in March 321 A.D., and to their mother church: the Roman Catholic Church from which they came. Don’t take our word for it. Go to history and see if the facts can be disproved.

1. From the Church of England:

"...Where are we told in the scripture that we are to keep the first day at all? We are commanded to keep the seventh; but we are no where commanded to keep the first day... the reason why we keep the first day of the week instead of the seventh is the same reason that we observe many other things, not because the Bible orders them, but because the church has enjoined it." (Isaac Williams, D.D, Plain Sermons On The Catechism, vol. 1, p.334.)

2.From the Presbyterian Church:

Some have tried to build the observance of Sunday upon apostolic command, whereas the apostle gave no command on the matter at all... the truth is as soon as we appeal to the literal writing of the Bible, the Sabbatarians have the best of arguments." (The Christians At Work, April 19, 1883 - January 1884)

3. From Methodist Church:

"Sabbath in the Hebrew language signifies rest, and is the seventh day of the week ...and it must be confessed that there is no law in the New Testament concerning the first day." (Theological Dictionary, Charles Buck)

4. From the Head of the Beast (Rome):

(State Recognition of Sunday)

"Constantine to Elpidius, All Judges, city people and craftsmen shall rest on the venerable day of the Sun. But countrymen may without hindrance attend to agriculture, since it often happens that this is the most suitable day for sowing grain or planting vines, so that the opportunity afforded by divine providence may not be lost, for the right season is short of duration." (Codex Justinianus, III.Xii.3, 7 March 321)

5. From the Harlot Woman (the beast from the earth):

"Christians must not Judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must on that day, rather honoring the Lord’s day." (Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, volume XIV)

"Sunday is our mark of authority. The Church is above the Bible, and this transference of the Sabbath observance is proof of that fact." (The Catholic Record, London, September 1, 1923)

"If Protestants would follow the Bible, they would worship God on the Sabbath Day. In keeping the Sunday, they are following a law of the Catholic Church." (Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, February 1, 1920.)"Sunday is a Catholic institution, and the claims to its observance can be defended only on Catholic principles... From beginning to end of Scripture, there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first." (The Catholic Press, Sydney, Austrelia, August 1990. "The observance of Sunday by the Protestants is an Homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the Catholic Church." It was not just the Sabbath that Yahshua and the Apostles observed, they also, obediently, celebrated Passover and Shavuot, etc.
